Lying at the foot of the Matterhorn, the scenery here is stunning. With mountain bike descents of up to 3000 metres, on barely ridden singletrack, this area also offers some awesome biking.
Cervinia and it's sister resort of Valtourneche are both on the same lift-pass, and the linked trails between the two offer miles of unspoilt riding to the adventurous mountain biker.
Purpose built tracks are a fairly new concept here, just beginning to spring up. However, that means bikers are rewarded with barely ridden natural singletrack. If you're used to busy UK trail centres you'll get a very pleasant surprise on a biking holiday here! Cervinia is soon to be a big destination for mountain bike holidays, get in before everyone else does.
If you’re feeling adventurous make sure you’re here in time to take part in the Maxiavalanche – from the organisers of L’Alpe d’Huez’s famed Megavalanche. Taking place over the first weekend of August, this should definitely be on every mountain bikers to do list.
The guides based in the hotel can show you some incredible rides down the valley with pick ups organised to get you back into resort. Or take a day trip to the mtb trails at Pila, famed for its awesome DH biking.
We picked Cervinia because of it's great riding potential and stunning scenery. However, the most important reason was that we found a hotel that's run in the way we run Morzine holidays. The owners are bikers who put your enjoyment as top priority. They can advise you on where to ride and will make sure you're well fed afterwards. Anyone that's enjoyed one of our Morzine trips will be happy here.
Non-riders can easily be kept busy with summer skiing, mountaineering, horse-riding, swimming, golf, and both low and high level walks. Or simply a beer in the sunny pub garden, that's part of our chosen hotel.
All rates are for three nights or one week of half board accommodation in twin/double rooms. Contact us for stays of different lengths.
